In the Qu’ran the heart (qalb) is said to have feeling. And the believer is to have a sound heart. And all these common phrases of ‘a heart breaking’ or ‘a black heart’ seem familiar since in the Qu’ran the heart is described to be what makes someone a believer or a non believer.
“And their hearts are sealed, so that they apprehend not.”
(9:87)

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: “All of you are guardians and are responsible for your subjects. The ruler is a guardian of his subjects and the man is a guardian of his family, the lady is a guardian of her husband’s house and his off-spring and all of you are guardians and are responsible for your subjects.”
